Amazon Will Let Individual Teams Decide How Much Time They Spend in the Office

Amazon is once again shifting its approach to remote work, giving its employees more control over how much time they spend in the office and paving the way for more corporate staffers to continue working from home. The company will now permit individual teams to decide which policy works best for them, ranging from remaining mostly remote to a full-time return to office work.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy wrote in a note to employees on Monday, October 11th, “At a company of our size, there is no one-size-fits-all approach for how every team works best. For our corporate roles, instead of specifying that people work a baseline of three days a week in the office, we’re going to leave this decision up to individual teams.”

Company directors will have the final say on what frequency of in-person work suits Amazon teams.
